National organizations bring deep contextual knowledge, community trust, and on-the-ground networks that enhance the effectiveness and reach of aid efforts.
Collaborating with national partners has;

- Enhanced accountability and transparency.
An inclusive approach that values local expertise fosters more adaptable and impactful humanitarian interventions, ultimately leading to more dignified and efficient support for those in need.
In partnership with NRC, the Uganda Law Society provides free legal aid and advocacy to protect the rights of refugees in Uganda, ensuring their access to justice and promoting their legal empowerment.
In partnership with NRC, the Refugee Law Project (RLP), an initiative of Makerere University’s School of Law, empowers refugees, asylum seekers, and other forced migrants in Uganda by providing , psychosocial support, human rights education, and advocacy to promote justice and dignity.

Refugee Led Organizations
NRC partners with Refugee Led organizations to deliver grassroots, culturally informed support to refugee communities. Their close connection to affected populations enables them to respond quickly, build trust, and ensure that humanitarian efforts are relevant, inclusive, and sustainable.
Buganda Royal Institute
Buganda Royal Institute of Business and Technical Education (BRIBTE) plays a significant role in empowering refugees in Uganda by providing accessible vocational and technical training programs. Through a partnerships with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), BRIBTE offers courses in areas such as hairdressing, tailoring, fashion design, and motor vehicle mechanics, equipping refugees with practical skills for self-reliance and economic integration
NRC collaborates with AbiZARDI to provide training on best agricultural practices, establish demonstration farms, and support both refugees and host communities in cultivating nutritious crops such as cassava, sweet potatoes, and vegetables. These efforts aim to improve dietary diversity, increase household incomes, and foster peaceful coexistence between refugees and local populations.
Through a private sector partnership with Movit Products Limited, NRC equips refugees and host community members with entrepreneurship skills, practical hands-on training and start-up products, aiming to empower participants to establish income-generating businesses and achieve self-reliance.
